Rough shifting on 87 Volvo Automatic trans.?
mileage not so much but on a GM ACDelco battery you should get easy 6-7 years out of it. An aftermarket battery depends on make probably about 3-5 years. What engine components are going to hurt most when doing alot of Drag Race??
Depending on your battery, anywhere from 3 to 5 years. The more you spend on your battery, obviously, the longer it is gonna last. I have had one that lwas 7 years old and was still going when I got rid of the vehicle. That was a Bosch, and it saw four different vehicles (Taurus, Tempo, another Tempo, and a Chevy Truck). it depends on the weather, and how well its taken care of.Engine noises on 51 corsa c (uk)?
It varies a lot really...some last a few years, while I've had two that held out for 8 years...depends on weather conditions sometimes, very cold, then hot in summer doesn't help...5 years is the average. I have generally been lucky with batteries and have gotten 6 to 8.
I have seen car batterys last upto 10 years. It says the months on the battery when you buy it. My factory battery in my explorer lasted 9 years, not bad.
Switching From Conventional Oil to Synthetic?
Depends on the climate as much as anything. Hot climates can see the average battery carked in 2 years and a few months. Cooler areas, a year or so more, cold climates, sometimes last 5 years plus. What are the advantages and disadvantages of synthetic oil?
It all depends on the quality of battery you buy! I always buy a battery that has at least 1000 cold cranking amps because winter is a killer on anything! Those batteries will last a long time. The one in my GMC snowplow truck is seven years old and still does it's job everytime! If you buy Walmart, cheapo batteries, 325 cold cranking amps, not more than one to two years!
Your biggest enemies are temperature and when you leave the headlights on (car not running) for an extended period! Both will wreak havoc on your battery!
My 1996 camaro is overheating.?
A failing battery can overload your alternator charging system and cause premature failure of the alternator. That can be a significant expense on many vehicles. So instead of just buying a new battery, you end up buying both the battery and a new alternator. In addition, you don't have the advantage of having a new battery to meet peak load demands that could strand you when you need the car to get you out of dangerous climate and/or road conditions etc. My daughter's car battery is 4 years old, and it couldn't start the car after only one night during which she accidentally left a courtesy light on. My opinion is that a newer battery could have easily started the car the next morning. One option is to buy a new battery every 4 or 5 years and use the old battery for backup applications around the house. Another is to have the battery load tested to detect when it's taking too much power from the alternator to keep it charged. A clamp on ammeter could be used to measure the alternator load current to see if the battery was drawing too much current just to keep it charged up even during low load conditions. Finally, your alternator is not designed to recharge a dead battery, so when you jump start a car that has a marginal and discharged battery, you are placing a peak load on the alternator that could cause it to fail prematurely.Where can i find my pvc valve?
