Question:
I have a 95 Honda Civic LX. When it is parked, or at a stop light it jerks and jumps very harshly. When I am driving it is perfectly fine. I changed all the spark plugs and the wires and the problem still exists.
If I rev the engine with the pedal to the floor while parked the engine stops jerking but when I drive the car and stop again it begins its annoying dance again.
I can smell burning oil very slightly. But that can also have been a problem that existed before and I am noticing it now because I am looking for a problem.
I hope this last bit of info helps. When I pull off from a full stop, the car makes a rattling, knocking noise. This was the case also with my last car before it went kerplunk on me.
This is probably unrelated but for a long while now, my car struggles to change gears and then violently jerks into gear when I accelerate.

Hmmm.. It's 12+ years old. Probably over 100,000 miles on it. But if you've had this problem before with a DIFFERENT car, maybe its the place you buy your fuel. sounds to me like you may have a transmission or differential going out, you need to have someone qualified to test drive it to know for sure.being a font wheel drive the trannie and diff are a unit, so in either case it will be expensive.How do you remove lug nuts when they are stripped?
sounds like you may need to add some oil and maybe change a few muffler bearings. also look into your engine bay and on the right side there may be a small clumping of wires. behind all of them are some bolts that may need to be adjusted. if you dont have one, go to the hardware store and pickup a metric hammer. this will help all those problemsHow do i take off and install a car starter?
