I agree with the other two posters. I have personally see this very same symptom on a few Ford Escapes (same vehicle as a Mazda Tribute), caused by the vacuum brake booster. to repair this problem requires replacement. Hope this helps.

My car is overheating when i am drivning, its worse in stop and go traffic, what could be wrong?

Have the master cylinder checked.

Mysterious Car problem!!~~?

you have a vacuum leak , start car and get under the steering wheel and check for leaks sounds like your booster may be leaking check accordingly

Why is my 96 monte carlo rattling and losing power?

Sounds like the vacuum booster diaphragm has a pinhole in it...is the car starting to idle a "leetle" rough too?
