We currently have a mini van that starts, but will not move. The dip-stick for tranny is good and there are no signs of leakage. Is there a mechanic out there, that might give me some insight. The van is not worth replacing the tranny, so I am preparing myself for yet another car. The vehicle is currently in Grand Island NY and has left my husband stranded.

Possibly the pump has lost prime and wont pick up the fluid due to a couple of reasons, has the filter recently been changed? DId it fall off the valve body? IF it did, it will no longer pick up trans fluid to make it move. Also clutch or seal failure is the most likely cause, I work for chrysler and build transmissions every week. Seen several high mileage vehicles after a winter storm brought in with shelled transmissions due to spinning on ice and snow.Are the quick CV boot replacements worth it?

Have your husband crawl under the van and check the linkage, make sure it goes into gear.when has the fluid and filter been changed if filter is clogged could be the cause or the torque converter is out if converter is out junk it high priced
