Try "Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner." It can be found online and in most auto parts stores. Costs about $12 for a bottle. Rub it into the glass lens and it works great.

What kind of damage is done to a 1.4 16v ecotec engine when the cambelt breaks?

It is very, very easy to fix. Apply some buffing compound and use an orbital buffer to GENTLY "buff" (grind) down a thin layer of the surface of headlight. If you do it too hard you can burn through the plastic just as you would the clearcoat of your paint. I've seen it done with a coarse grit and then a fine grit compound. Worked excellent. The only trouble you may have is getting access to a buffer though you may be able to find a cheapish one or just go to a shop and have them clean the lights up the aforementioned way. A single new headlight is usually $100+ so you know what you'relooking to spend to recondition your lights.

Most parts stores sell a lense restorer for about 15 bucks or so. You use a cordless drill with some of them, which are the better ones.

Why does my car vibrate so much when I turn on the aircon?

I have tried this fix myself. It may sound corny, but depending on how cloudy the headlight covers on your vehicle are, it may suffice. The solution that I have used is toothpaste. There are extremely small particles in toothpaste that allows them to "polish" your teeth. These same compounds can also polish your headlight covers, too. You must use a soft, moist rag (or towel) to apply the toothpaste to the covers. You should use a light circular rubbing motion. Do not let the toothpaste dry. After appyling the toothpaste, immeadiatly use another soft moist cloth to gently clean the toothpaste from the headlight cover. Hopefully, the covers will lighten up. You may have to repeat these steps more than once for better results depending on the amount of cloudiness on the covers.

Clutch replacement help for '97 S10.?

Go to Auto Zone and they have a $12 box, with I think 6 pads. You have a holder which you attach to a drill. Then you put the pad on and the drill turns the pad and you can shine them up. I had the problem with my van and this worked. But I am going to try some finer buffing. I am going to look for a plastic buffer. When you cut plastic, you sand it with a very fine grit and then you polish it to a bright shine. This I got to get to try to get the new lens look. The Auto Zone stuff works at it did make it better. But at an angle you could still see the roughness and the plastic was OK, but again did not have the clear look.
