Autos - air conditioning?

Question:
I own a '94 Honda civic and had to have a motor put in it when I first purchased it. The guy that had it before me already had the A/C lines disconnected and they were just reconnected when the new motor was put in.

Car question-?

What do I need to do before I can charge this? The vehicle is already set up for R134a. Do I need to have somebody pull the vacuum on it or can I just shoot the refrigerant to it?

Hello is anyone there ?

Any help is greatly appreciated

How long does it take to drain a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee battery?

You need to have the system flushed and vacuumed.

You need the vacuum because there is moisture in the system from when it was opened, this has to be removed.

I need an estimate on a custom paint job for a F-150 today, any ideas?

You need to have it flushed to make sure there aren't any leftover surprises from when the previous owner swapped the engines..dirt, debris, compressor chunks, etc...

It would also be a good idea to replace the dryer/accumulator as well.these devices help control moisture in the system and if they have been exposed for any length of time they are going to be bad...

How can I tighten up my trucks?

Not only are you going to have to have a vacuum pulled, you're probably going to have to replace the dessicant in the system, because it's sat open for a while.

BTW, if it's been inactive and open for a long while, you may discover other parts are now in need of replacement. No real way to know until you charge it, and run it.

Timing belt kits?

Yes the system needs to be evacuated to remove any moisture that would have gotten in there when opened up. The receiver-dryer should also be replaced as the desiccant inside it is probably too contaminated to do it's job properly.
Before replacing or doing anything have the compressor checked that it is not seized and that the system doesn't have any leaks in it. After all, it was unhooked originally for some reason.

What happens when you put acar battery in backwards?

You first need to do a leak test. Colored inert fluid is introduced into the system and then charged with high pressure. When a leak is detected, it should be fixed.

Why would my 94 Honda Accord shut off while I'm driving?

Since the A/C has probably not been used for a long while a few things need to be replaced. These are the filter/dryer and the expansion valve.

Apparently I need my car aligned. Would that cause a shaking/rattling noise in the front when I drive?

Once leak test was successful, the system is then flushed and cleaned. A/C lubricant is introduced and then it is charged with refrigirant.

How much does it cost to paint a C5 corvette? How do you remove the old paint?

You have to replace the accumulator as this has been contaminated by moisture from the air. An oil change of the system is also vital as well. Only then you can and must evacuate the system and make sure it doesn't leak. Once this is done you can recharge it.
