Question:
Lately my Vauxhall Corsa (1993) has had trouble overheating. And recently I noticed that there was a water leak near the radiator. Everytime I fill the water up there is a steady leakage. I can't see the exact point it is coming from but it appears to below the radiator.
Why wont my Dodge durango start?
Please can you suggest what might need repairing and give me a rough idea of the costs?

Can a tire really explode if you put too much air in it ?
Hi Simon! My car dies. loss ignition. please help. 03 Expedition 4.6L 75000 mi.?
What you need to do is dry all areas were its damp/wet & find out were the link is coming from...the U clips might be loose or just a split hose...if this is the case it will be cheap..you can get hoses from your local scrapyard.
If it's the radiator you could also purchase a radiator there too.
Have a look at these rads..prices vary..start off 30 quid'

It is pretty much easy for you to fit if you have the tools but you need to bleed the water properly!
I wouldn't go to the main dealer as it would be expensive, phone around through the yellow pages at your local small garages, they'll be so much cheaper if you decide not to fit it yourself, just labour tho! I'd buy the rad your self..You might know a friend of a friend who's good with cars to...ask about...

before you do all this take off the oil cap to make sure its not gone all creamy were you put the oil & pull the dip stick out & make sure that the oil is ok & not gone a white creamy colour too! I'm saying this as where your car has overheated it might of damaged the head gasket!
Hopefully it'll be just the rad, I'd say 100 quid all in!
Good Luck!! : )
The obvious things would to be check any rubber hose connections, they could be worn out because of age, so you would need to replace them, or they could just be a bit loose or a bit scaled up, in any case first check with the engine hot ( don't touch it ) to see if you have any vapour coming out , and when it is cold try loosening and then re-tightening the clips that hold the hoses. If your radiator has a leak then you may have to change it, there are not a lot of solutions once it has cracked, there are magic products but they are not as reliable as we would like.
My 95 cavalier it runs fine but myt dash lights come on and go out?
a couple of hundred quid inc labour... 2nd hand radiators if needed for corsa''s are quite cheap.. i'd just get rid though!.Sounds as if the matrix of the radiator had a leak. A replacement radiator will be needed and would take about 3 - 4 hours to replace if all goes well. So as one answer says about £200, if the car is otherwise good then the cost is worth it as a change will give you a car with unknown faults.
What is causing loud noise in 93 Taurus 3.8 Liter Engine?
here's a link to them on ebay.use a pressure tester on the cooling system at 15 to 20 psi to see where the leak is (ie water pump) leave it in place. run the engine. if observed pressure increases. suspect faulty head gasket.
