how do i adjust the timing on my 1983 corvette?

If the Fiero is like every other torque converter equipped car I've ever worked on you will need to drop the transmission and remove the converter to drain the oil. You can drain the transmission easily enough but TC requires removal.

A new car...?

Remove it.You can have a drain plug installed, but the converter will need rebalancing.Buy one with a drain already installed.

You can either pull the trans or disconnect the line going to radiator and let the trans pump it out in park. Adding new ATF. Go with Sync ATF, will not be sorry you did.

supra car parts?

I honestly don't know, but on most cars there is an inspection plate that will allow you access to the front of the flex-plate. I.E. the opposite side from the torque converter. By turning the flex-plate (I normally use a large screw driver as a lever on the starter ring) and watching the front there should be a hole in the flex-plate that lines up with a plug in the torque converter. If you put that hole at the very bottom and remove the plug you should be able to drain the converter. Don't forget to use a large pan as the fluid can do a lot of dribbling.

Can paint stay on sponge?

I hope that helps. If my system fails, check out a Haynes or Chilton service manual. They can be purchased at parts stores, and my local library has many of them in the reference section. Good luck.

door locks on a 1998 Volvo v-70 not working?

If you just want to replace all the fluid, a flush would work a lot better. Then you're not pumping air all through everything when you refill it. You can do it yourself by putting the cooler return line from the radiator into a bucket marked in quarts, starting the engine and adding a quart of new fluid every time you pump a quart into the bucket. That pretty much duplicates the way the oil change places do it, but without the $24,000 machine. Just do a normal transmission service first, so the pan is clean and full of new fluid before you start the flush.
