Question:
The battery will not work even after jumping it, and there is no whining noise like it wants to start when we turn the key?
Answers:
My emergency brake light won't come off, what's wrong?
If you jumped the battery and left the cables on while you were trying to start it, it is probably not the charging system (alt or batt.) as it should be getting enough juice from the other system to at least make a noise like it's trying to turn over. Of the 3 probably the starter, but it could be other things as well.Estimate the costs of these parts?
Remove the battery and take it to an auto parts store. Most will test the battery for you for free. It could be that the battery just failed and you may need a new one.If the battery doesn't charge up once you get the truck started and run for a while. there is a good chance the alternator isn't charging and the battery isn't any good.
My car was idling then stopped an dwont turn over all the way??
What I would do is get the truck running, and keep it running, take it to Autozone, O'reilley's, or Advance Auto Parts, where they will test the alternator and battery for you. If you have doubts it will keep running that long, take a spare battery with you, to get it running again and continue on to the parts store.
By you saying the battery won't turn it over after jumping it tells me either it hasn't charged up enough or isn't charging at all. Either way, you still need to find out which it is.
Have you replaced a sunroof motor?
I hope it is just the battery. That shouldn't be more than 50 or 60 bucks tops.

Alternator could be considerably more, plus install. Might be as much as 125 or more installed.
Car problems...need a diagnosis please!?
I don't think you have a starter problem unless it is making some odd noises when you crank it over. That could be as simple as the Bendix. But that wouldn't have anything to do with the battery.
So I am pretty sure you are all right with this.
check your fuses.
What is involved in a vehicle tune-up?
Try cleaning the cables attached to the batterysmall turbo in big engine...will it work?
If you jumped it right, the alternator could be laying on the garage floor and the engine would still start. You need to get a voltmeter and check to see if 12 volts is getting through the solenoid to the starter when you turn the key.More Questions & Answers ...
