Audi A4 Lower Control Arm / Link?

Question:
I took my 1997 Audi A4 to the shop today b/c there was a "groaning" noise coming from my drivers side front tire area everytime i came to a stop/hit a bump in the road. The shop told me that the bushings in my lower control arm were dry and that they had lubed it up, but that I needed to replace the lower control arm and lower control link (and also an alignment after it was all done). Any insights?

Where can I find the model number on a small air compressor?

3 Questions:
1.) Is this worthwhile to do now, or do I wait and see if the lubrication does the trick?
2.) How necessary is this repair, i.e. safety-wise?
3.) How much should something like this cost? I am being quoted roughly $300 for each of the parts and then about 3.5 hours of labor.

I have a 2004 Honda civil and was in a small accident. Will this void a car warranty?

Thanks in advance for your help!

98 Honda Accord LX 4 CYL?

The lower front control arm for this car has a dealer list of $186. The labor according to Mitchell is 1.0 hours. There is not, as far as I can tell, a lower control link (sometimes called a strut rod) on this vehicle since it has upper and lower A-arm suspension. The diagram I have for the front suspension on this car does not show one and no part number is listed for one. Perhaps they are not quoting what I think they are quoting.

I hav a 89 Mustang, it has 140k miles, the engine shakes and the chck engine light goes on, wat's wrong?

Worn control arm bushings can cause significant toe movement in the front suspension which in turn can cause steering and braking problems and uneven tire wear.

I dont know much about cars but the same thing happend to my 2000 528 bmw. I chose not to fix the problem and pay tution! It would have cost me 800. But ended costing 1800 because it caused more damage after time. So pay less now or more later its your choice.
