I have a 1997 Buick Century with 167,000 miles, can anyone tell me the life of these cars?

Question:
I keep the oil changed, etc. But, I know sooner or later it will happen. Does anyone have any experience with these cars?

Answers:

I own a1995 auto. Camero - Problem, can't get gear shift out of park in the morning. By afternoon its fine.

I have a 91 Le Sabre has 375,000 miles on it now. your off to a good start with one of the most reliable vehicles ever built. it is not uncommon for these to go 500,000 and more. I would not trade mine for any other. and will buy another if the time comes.
I have been in auto repair business for 30+ years and have work on almost every vehicle available in the USA.

How do i replace the O2 sensors in my 1997 lexus ES300?

You are doing good with 167,000. With proper care, a car can last 250,000 or even more.... and yet there are far too many cases of failure as well, even before 20,000 miles. Enjoy your car, and if you really like it that much, save up about 9000 to cover the cost of an engine or transmission rebuild. Or for another car when the time comes that yours does fail.
Good luck.

What will Happen

changing my headlight (lowbeams) for 97'dodge avenger sport?!?!?

The most probable failure will be your transmission if it's the original transmission. However, actual mileage can be deceptive if, for example, most of your miles have been on the open highway rather than stop and go driving around town then the engine and transmission can last twice as long as a short trip car. If you end up replacing the transmission when it fails, my advice is not to have your current transmission rebuilt at a local transmission shop. Instead you should have the dealer install a new remanufactured transmission from GM. Another good source of quality remanufactured transmissions for cost and warranty comparisons is http://www.jasperengines.com However, total cost of either an engine or transmission will be about $3500, so you may want to look for another car if either the engine or transmission fails.

no compression in engine?

No one can tell you how long any car will last.Maintence is very important. The cleaner the fuel the less wear you will get in cylinders. If two people bought the exact same auto on the same day and both followed each other everywhere they went and they handled the maintence the same way the cars would not be worn out on the same day.

how do i put helicoil in the spark plug cylinder ?

With regular maintenance, it can last several hundred thousand miles.
Regular maintenance is more than just changing the oil. Follow the maintenance schedule located in your owners manual.
