What is wrong with my 2000 Dodge Intrepid?

The Malfunction Indicator Light is on in my car. I'm getting a code of Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circiuit High. Has anyone ever had this happen to their car or know how to fix it without bringing it to the dealership. They tell me it needs to be on their computer, but I'm looking for a cheaper route.

Begin by checking your fuel filter and in addition make sure that nothing is hosed up in your muffler or exhaust. After these things are checked/changed (if neccesary), disconnect your battery for about a minute to reset all faulty/check engine lights(doing this means resetting your clock, radio stations, etc.). If the problem persists, then run diagnostics through the computer. Just trying to give you a few pointers before you go the expensive route. Hope this is helpful and good luck!
