How do I get my front end lower on my honda?
do you have an axle on your car? car's don't usually have front axles. they do sometimes have CV shafts..this is easily figured out if it need repair, you'll hear this cool clicking sound when you turn.if your car does have a broken AXLE, you'll know when you put it into 4wd, lift it in the air, and it doesn't turn, or turns with a nice grinding noise.
you will know if the axle is bad if you go around a corner at low speeds and you can hear a grindering or clicking. the cv boot might be torn and water and debris get inside and screw stuff up. check to see if the boot is torn. and if it makes any noise you'll need a new boot or whole axle.
Generally speaking the only real need to change front axle shafts is if one of the CV joints has gone bad. This generally occurs when the CV boot develops a hole and all the grease is flung out from normal driving and the joint has been allowed to go dry for an extended period of time.
Cheap durable tires (Not Douglas Tires)...?
If the CV joint is bad you should be able to hear a noticeable clicking coming from the front end and you should notice play and vibration in the steering.
If you are inspecting the axles and notice that one of the boots has a leak or hole, it is possible to replace just the boot. However it is simpler to just replace the axle, as it comes as a complete bolt in assembly, whereas changing the boot requires some specialized tools, namely a boot expander.
