'91 Honda Prelude - rust issues ?

There should be 2 screw holes going into the door handle,There should also be one located in the top corner of the door opening handle,When you take that off there will be a plastic clip that has to be slid sideways away from the bar or else you will snap it,I thinkthere might be some screws in behind the speaker grill too,There will be four holding on the speaker which you dont need to worry about,There will more than likely be 3 others around it,Once those are off then you need to seperate the door panel from the door by using something wide and flat to go between the panels to pop off the panel clips, these should go back on easy enough,Once youve popped the panel off all the way down both side and across the bottome the panel should then lift upwards away from the door,Then remove the electrical plugs from the winder switch

What is causing this sound?

no you will not damage the electric windows.the screws for door panels are usually hidden behind handles ashtrays and other things that are on the door itself have a good look around the door, they are there somewhere.
