My 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood the engine died in it. the guy that used to own it rebuilt it himself and did a shitty job so the engine went bad. How much does a professional engine rebuild cost?

man engine rebuilding can get exspensive ,if you cant do it yourself.a labor guide gives you about 40 hrs to rebuild one times that at 40.00 an hor then you have parts ,then are the heads good ,how about the crank....last motor i myself did i had 1700.00 in parts go to advance or auto zone you can get a decent motor for about 900.00 and it has a warranty ...someone could install it for about 300.00 hope this helps

Means the engine's old enough, you may be able to do it yourself, although I don't know of any literature that would help. You could go to Jasper engines and get a rebuilt one for it, and just stab that in there.

I would think that a full on engine rebuild of such an old block could vary greatly. You're going to want to get the heads checked, the block checked, the crank checked...all of these things, especially the block for any cracks or fractures. There's no sense in going all of the way through a rebuild only to find out that the block will blow up as soon as you start it.
