i started my van as usual today , only for it to cut our after 10 seconds. it then would not start for ages . sounds like fuel . it cut out after each time of starting and wont run . i bled the system and pumped the pump thingy but still wont run . any help please ?

Bleed the filter, followed by the pump inlet, both with the hand primer, then the pump outlet by cranking the engine over. Then crack the all of the injectors a full turn each, turn the engine over until fuel squirts out of them and then engine starts to a fashion, then tighten them back up again and then crank the engine over until it starts if it has cut back out.

i agree with cufty,change the filter,also it could be the filter holder/priming pump,they are very prone to fail,also check the fuel line for signs of damage,it could be drawing air into the system,also check the filter inside the diesel tank,its a very fine gause and can clog up over the years,you can remove it to wash it,its located by removing the float that measures the contents of the tank.
