Question:
I recently traded my '00 Ranger for a '01 Galant V6 LS. The other day I noticed a "loping" sound as I accelerated my car through the gears. Is this sound normal? It's only when I accelerate I can hear the "loping" but not when the car is in park or when I'm at a stop.
all right another question for my car 85 chevy Caprice Classic?
Also when the car is in gear and I'm at a complete stop I can hear a very low level but loud harmonic resonance throughout the car (almost like very deep bass). If I put the gear into neutral/park (i.e., putting no load on the motor) the harmonic resonance goes away. Does this make sense? Has anyone experienced anything like this?

What would I need to pull the engine fault codes out of a 93 Mazda 626?
heres something you should do to isolate the problem: If it is there only when the car is turned on and is at a stop, its either an engine noise or something rattling inside the car. also try putting it in neutral and revving the engine just a bit to see if it gets louder while only the engine is engaged. If it starts making the noise when the car is in gear, but is tied to RPM (not speed, but RPM), as in it changes the noise when you shift gears, then its a tranny issue. If its tied to speed, its a drivetrain, post tranny, issue.what kind of coolant do you put in a year 2000 chevrolet 1500 silverado?
To me, a lopping sound at speed would sound like an out of balance or alignment or flat spotted or similar tire.
I`m don`t know what I`m need to do!?
please do the test (or just edit your question) in the first part of the question and report your findings. This is generally the best rough test for isolating a problem.
and also, thank you for posting a bunch of info on it. I cant stand when people say "its making a whirr sound," and thats it.
