thermostat is possibly not working correctly , or the head gasket could be warped. does the heater still work in the car if so , is it cold ?
you could try changing the thermostat, replace the water in the car, make sure you jack the front of the car up so all the water goes through all the pipes otherwise you could get bubbles in the lines causing more heating up.
if that fails then go to a mechanic
