Question:
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD Quad Cab which currently has 245/75-16" tires on it. I was a bigger tire to get the truck a little further off the ground. How big a tire can I put on my truck (safely)? It is still in original factory condition, no mods or lifts.

If you are sticking with the stock wheels a P265/75R16 114S should fit just fine. Overall diameter will increase over the stock tire by about 0.6 inches. Your odometer and speedometer readings will be off though.Could lean mixture cause even higher fuel consumption?
You need to talk to the guys at a tire shop. But basically what you need to do is turn your wheel in a see how much clearance to your frame you currently have. Then look at the tires and get one that won't cause them to rub against your frame.More Questions & Answers ...
