your taking the risk of getting it really hot if you do,and it may cause more damage than you can have repaired,if its a slow leak you might make it,,i wouldn't go more than a few miles at the most in it ,,good luck with it,hope this help,s,happy new years.

as i do not know what it is , you could let it cool down and drive till the needle gets to just before the red and stop leave rad cap off , and top it up with water if you got and , but your water pump could be turned bye the cam belt , so if it is get it towed in as if the water pump gets worsted through the engine running there is every possibility of it seizing up and snapping the cam belt and that will dost you a lot more than a tow truck
