Question:
I have a Actron code reader/eraser I have pretty much all the cables for obdII and chrysler/ford/GM obdI. I was wondering if maybe there was a special cable I could get for reading pre 96 foreign cars. I have read in a few places something about a ten pin or blink codes or something. Does anyone have any additional info please?

You don't need cables or scanner. Mazda doesn't offer live data, so the scanner is just an very expensive code reader.Go here------>

…and scroll down below the list of code descriptions for the procedure and an illustration of what you need to do to retrieve the codes. All it takes is a paperclip and the "Check Engine" light.

Most cars are different, but I would simply take it to AutoZone or some place like it. They will do it for free.
im trying to find out if p185/75r14 tires will fit on a 2005 neon w/ 14' steel rims?
You need an asian package for OBD1, the one my shop got was an upgrade and it was about $400 and that was 50% off because we just bought the scanner for it. Most parts places only use OBDII code readers, you're best bet is at a garage and pay for them to read it.Since1996 all plugs have to be the same by law.You just have to have the chip or cable that is for Mazdas.
i own a repair shop, and you can buy the cable for for this one ,just make sure its one of the ones that goes back ,if it has the updated chip in it,it will work,,but if not, buying the cable wont help you none,,you can go to actrons web site ,and check to see if yours is the updated one,,i gave my old one away ,,because it couldn't be updated,,good luck i hope this help,s.
