Hotwiring a car, how to shut car off afterwards?

My car runs, but the ignition is broken. Meaning I can stick my key into the ignition but it wont turn at all, wont budge. So I am going to hotwire it, and I know how to, But I dont know how to shut the car off after I am done. Could you help me please? Haha, and no i'm not a criminal, sheesh. Thanks for any help :)

I think you would just take the main wire and unhook it from the rest of them and it should shut off!!

I'll assume you are NOT trying to steal your own car, and really do know how to hotwire a car! There are 2 wires you work with: one to turn on anything that comes on with the ignition (radio, engine computer and ignition, etc) and the momentary one that engages the starter solenoid - if this one stays on continuously, you kill the starter motor! Once running, you have the ignition wire still connected, then disconnect it to turn everything off. Make sure you know which wire does what!
