Question:
I know it's the door sensor, and it shuts off when I pull the bulb for the overhead light, goes out for a while and then turns back on. When I put the bulb in and then take it out about five minutes later it goes off again. Could it be a short circuit or something else wrong?

Open your door, on the front where the hinges are you will notice a small button, push it in, and see if the light goes off. if not, get a ten mm deep well socket and take this switch out, but be careful not to lose the wires inside the door jam. use some tape and tape them up. If your light goes out when you unplug this switch, replace the switch. This is most likely your problem, as water and road grime gets in there and corrodes it.

did you try to shut the rear door? i have a ford focus and the rear door or trunk seem to be the problem. you might have to try and slam it a couple of times.
Could radiator cleaner flush also clean away the head gasket sealant I put in a couple weeks ago?
Check that none of the switches are stuck in an open position or shorted.
