Get a Haynes Repair manual for your vehicle make and year. It has troubleshooting tips, wiring schematics, and how to fix about everything in your vehicle.
Check your wiring connections, it sounds like you have something unplugged. jumping the ecu is only going to cause you more problems, and is actually pointless. Take your car to autozone and have them pull the code. You most likely have a sensor unplugged.

I've done mods before and this light is very common with stock ecu. Intake, header(s), and exhaust is to unrestrict your cars flow. So it's only natural for your car's ecu range for flow to be thrown off.

Some new manifolds are not equipped to have the Exhaust Gas Recirculator (EGR) valve on it and it throws the computer off. Some EGR valves have a sensor on it that tells the computer whether it is open or closed etc. If the computer does not receive the signal it sends a code out as soon as the car warms up. Was there a carb change also? The old carb may have had a sensor on it that the computer is looking for.More Questions & Answers ...
