I have to change my flat tire and have never done it before. Tips?

Question:
Warnings? Advice? Thanks much. I will wait for daylight. I think I have a jack and a spare in the trunk. I got a ride back, it's on the side of the road. Thank you very much!

Can anyone help me? - I have put a small amount of unleaded into a diesel car!?

Just remember to loosen the lug nuts before you jack up the
car. The first time I had to change a flat I didn't know, and once the tire is up in the air you have no leverage to loosen
the lug nuts as the tire is spinning freely. And remember to do the tightening after you have lowered the car. Make sure that
you place the jack on a stable surgace, clear small rocks, etc.
out from under so there won't be any danger of it slipping.
Make sure that you have somewhere safe to place the lug nuts after you remove them (older cars you could put them
into the hubcap, but most wheels don't have hubcaps anymore) So make sure you have a pocket or a small
bag or container to put them in as they have a tendemcu tp
try to escape. That's about all I can think of..now I just
call the AAA and let them do it, got lazier in my old age.

Junkyard chevy 350 engine?

yep, best advice i can give you is to stand on the tire iron and bounce lightly to loosen the lug nuts. I tighten the same way. also, make sure you jack it up high enough for the full tire to be put on. Be careful.good luck.

Be sure to chock a wheel so it won't roll when you jack the car up.

What shocks can i get for a 94 olds mobile bravada that can add a few inches of lift?

Before you jack the car up crack loose all the lugnuts. Just loosen them a bit, not much. When you jack up the car make sure you put the jack under something strong. If it is a truck or older car put the jack under the frame. You will see it about 1' in on both sides of the car. It will be sticking down and will look like a steel rectangle about 3"x4". If it is a newer or smaller car you can use whats called the pinch weld. Look about 8" in and you will see a thin piece of metal sticking down. It is actually two pieces of metal welded together and will hold the car up. Jack it up slow and watch it to make sure that the jack is holding. When the car is a couple inches off the ground shake it to make sure that the jack is stable. Then take off the wheel and put the spare on. You wont be able to tighten it all the way with the car off the ground so as soon as you lower the car remember to finish tightening the nuts. You also dont want to tighten them in order. Tighten one, skip the next, tighten the next and so on until they are all done. You will have to do two next to each other if it is a 4-lug wheel. You want to do this to ensure that the wheel goes on straight and isnt too tight on one side and too loose on another.

Is it ok to use my emergency brake for awhile to help the car to slow down? Will get my foot brakes next week

refer to the manual as to where to place the jack (should be where the underbelly drops down in a lip shape and meets the lower panel under the door), put the e-brake on and make sure to sit something behind the back wheels to make the car won't shift backwards and make sure the wheels are straight so the car won't shift if you start raising the jack (use jack stands if you have them). Remove the lugnuts from the bottom to the top (I find it easier) then swap the flat for the spare, make sure that you put the lug nuts back on from top to bottom finger tight first, then torque the lugnuts to whatever the manual says is the proper amount (if you don't have a torque rench, then turn them until they are very tight) and slowly let the car back down.

Electric start crf230f?

losen the lugs before you jack it up, dont take them off, but get them lose. jack the car up far enough for the new tire, take the lugs off, put the spare on, get the lugs back on as tight as you can, then let it down and tighten the lugs again, be sure to do it in a cross pattern, if its a 5 lug wheel, tighten one then skip one and go to the next, you'll work around in a circle. if its 4 just tighten one, then go across the wheel to the other, then get the other 2 the same way.

Looking for a door striker, can anyone help?

How do you remove the fender on a 1994 GMC Jimmy S15?

just make sure to jack the car up on the large beam about 3 or 4 inches under the edge of the car cuz its real strong...put something under the tire(s) on the oposite side of the car to keep it from rolling...and like somebody else said tighten the bolts diagonaly so u wont cause uneven wear on the tire...and remember that a spare tire is ment for strictly temporary use and it WILL wear out in about 2 weeks or less if you ride on it hard.

If I drive my car with a vacuum hose leak, what kind of problems can occur?

i see others have answered this question so although i have not read any of them i will just tell you this don't put any part of your body under the car . only change the tire on a level surface. and block the wheels.
