Engine light on?

Question:
Many cars driven today have engine light on problems and
the majority reason is because of emission fault of some
type or another because of the oxygen sensor: here in
panama the emission laws do not exist, so can the car
with this problem be driven without damaging the engine
if say the engine light was deáctivated to where it would
not come on again because of emission fault. Gas quality
is not like in the states and because of it the engine light
will always come on after a time no matter weather
it is changed or not. How does one go about de-activating
the engine light permanently or is it recommended. TKS

My kid spilled milk in my car and it soaked into the leather seats. now what...?

NO the check engine light does not tell you if you have low oil pressure or are overheating. the other lights are always there for that. but if say, for example, an oxygen sensor goes, flat out bad, the cars going to run very rich and possibly in long term damage plugs, etc, id still keep the light.

We're looking at a G6 GTP and we're wondering about the supercharged motor in it?

Make sure it's not something serious before you deactivate it. I'd suggest going to a mechanic to get the code read and see what's troubling your engine. If you have poor quality gas can I suggest ordering a product called redline s1 fuel cleaner? You add about 1oz to each tankful, and it cleans the gas and your fuel system, even if it's not great quality gas to begin with.

Need brake specialist! for an 89 ford LTD Crown Vic.?

Your engine management light has came on as your ECU has picked up a fault of some kind and put your car onto a temporary running programme, not necessarily caused by your emissions level. Your car will need to be plugged into a diagnostic check at your local garage to reveal a fault code that is relevant to your fault, from this the part in question will be revealed allowing a repair or a replacement then your light can be reset.

Does anyone know where i can get a owners Manuel for 2005 for Taurus?

de-activating the engine light isn't a good idea how will you know if it runs out of oil, heats,or anything else?as far as driving it the computer will just go to its fault setting which is full fuel timing top dead center .Meaning it will run like a dog and burn gas like no tomorrow. Also when its running rich it will plug the catalytic converter so it will run even worse.
