What is the mileage of the vehicle? If you have significant mileage on the vehicle you are better off replacing it with a good used engine from a salvage yard. Unless you plan on spending the money to replace the cylinder head at a FORD dealership, I wouldn't recommend having ANYBODY disassemble or "open up" that engine of yours. Weigh out the cost of a used engine before you make your decision. There is TOO MUCH potential for having further MORE EXPENSIVE repairs if you have someone unfamiliar with Ford engines to attempt the repair you speak of. I appreciate the situation you are in, but at least if you replace the engine, it's a job that is relatively simpler for any small time shop to do, where they have HOURLY paid mechanics that will do the job PROPERLY, as opposed to someone who is paid FLAT RATE, who is going to try to "beat the clock".
