Question:
I have A 1972 Pontiac luxury le mans car that has 71,000 original miles on it, and i just bought it 5 days agao from a guy who owns a auto body shop. He had it in car shows because he has done so much work to it. it has a 350 v8 engine and its an automatic. Today I drove it keeping it under 55mph and when i drove into town, it started to cut off at stoplights or when i have to slow done below 10mph or so. Its not smoking or smelling funny. It was low on coolant so i took it to a mechanic and he helped me add coolant. then it sat for 6 hours while i was at work and then I started the engine and it basically did the same thing. What could this be? Jill

Must the adhesive be completely removed to install a windshield properly?
I have a 68 gto and 2 69 gto's, first Idle the carb up, and time it. My 69 w power steering was doing this in hard turns, if that doesn't do it, check for vacume leaks, bad floats in the carb etc. It may also be running to lean. Mine ended up being a weak fuel pump coupled with low idle. ( could also be crap in the fuel filter)Best automotive glue out htere is?

Is the engine stock or built, if its built to run you need to get into it and utilize its power once in a while.
Lots of possibilities, but the first thing I would look at is the carburetor adjustment(s)

Bad float in carburator or slightly out of time( timings off).Vacuum leak somewhere also.I have a 1999 Suburban front blower for heater doesn't work?
A bad choke pulloff will do this...it's basically a vacuum operated device that keeps the choke from closing once the car is warmed up. Look for a small round thing on the carb with a vacuum hose coming from it, and a link that goes to the choke.More Questions & Answers ...
