My 1996 Ford Taurus will shudder and vibrate badly once it has been driven and restarted the second time.?

When I say shudder and vibrate i'm talking about it shifting into 1st gear. So I would like to know is this being cause from a bad motor mount. After 1st gear the car shift's fine.

It's more likely a vacuum leak . Low vacuum will make the engine want to stall and it makes the transmission downshift. Once you get up some speed, the vacuum comes back up and you're OK.
