Is there a method of removing condensation inside auto headlights and restoring the seals?

Question:
I have several autos that are developing condensation inside the headlight lens. It is condensing on the lens and also pooling water at the bottom of the lens. It also seems to be developing a film inside as it goes through the cycle of fogging and condensing. Replacement is at the cost of several hundred dollars, which I would like to avoid.

You can reseal the headlight with any silicone after dismantling it.Get the water out a dry it off. There is a product out called Flitz. This stuff is specifically designed to remove the "film/fogging" on older plastic covered headlights. You may be able to find it at your local autozone or advanced auto.If not you can go to www.flitz.com .Hope this helps.

1999 Toyota Camry's engine shaking?

I had this happen on my saturn SC2. I pulled both headlights off and dumped the water out of them. I used a hair dryer to speed up the process some, but I ended up leaving them out for 1 day.
I then used silicon caulk to seal the seems on the light.
That worked really well and didn't have any more trouble with it.

location of fuel pump on a 2003 dodge stratus?

My thought is that if the lenses are plastic I would drill a small hole at the top and bottom for air flow then when they clear plug the holes with small rubber "self locking post w/ barb flat round head" plugs. That way when they fog up again just remove the plugs for a while then replace with new.

How often should I wax my car?

Yes they can be fixed as described by others here, but usually the moisture will affect the clarity of the lense as well as the reflective surface inside the globe resulting in a dim headlamp. Replacement is usually the best option. Aftermarket globes are much cheaper but are not as good of quality as OEM. Used globes can be very reasonable and you still get the factory quality. If you need help finding aftermarket or used globes e-mail friendlyautoparts@yahoo.com with your request.
