How much would a 91 honda Prelude's Bumper shocks cost?

Question:
Recently I bumped a 91 honda prelude with my car. I didn't hit the car hard at all (So lightly that a shopping cart could do less damage). The man who owned the car sent me a bill asking for 550 dollars to replace the prelud'es bumper shocks. I'm skeptical about this. How expensive are these parts and how easy are they to break?

Answers:

Car is not turning is it the starter?

Did he send you a valid quote from the insurance company or one hey just made? It takes more than just a little bump to collapse them. The price ranges from manufacturer to manufacturer.
