I need to know where the starter filter is located on a 1997
manual transmission VW GTI 2door ..excuse my mechanical ingnorance ..lol Thanx

There isn't a starter filter. the oil filter is located near the starter... about the size of a pop can, (soda if you're not in the upper midwest) screwed into the engine block.
