IAT Resistor... Cause Engine Problems?

Question:
I have a 93 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 (OHV)... I went on ebay and got ripped off, I know the "resistor" is sold for 58Cents and I payed $16! But what ever.. My question to you is, if I plug this into my car will it damage it in anyway? I know it tells the cars computer that it is taking colder air...By telling the car that, will it damage engine parts?

Don't use it. its a gimmick
all your doing is skewing the IAT table to the rich side which will add fuel to ALL of the ecu strategies which while in some scenario's this may add a small amount of gain (due to OEM tunning for emissions) in others it will do the oposite...the end result will be poor economy countered by little to no noticable gain in hp unless you can also add more air and re adjust timming.
