Question:
Just wondering what the symptoms of a slipping clutch are and what I should expect to pay to replace my clutch in a shop. I have a 95 Escort LX. Thanks.

Where is the alarm module in a ford Excursion 2000 ?
Well as far as the slipping, you should hear (or see on the tach) the engine rev while car the doesn't acclerate when your driving. Or the old fastioned 3rd gear test. Park your car and set the parking brake, put the car in third gear and let the clutch out. The car SHOULD stall, if the car idles, that clutch is slipping! Oh and make sure you have room if the car moves, don't hit anything. As far is cost, i would expect maybe 5-700 counting labor...but that was on my SHO, can't promise yours will be that much. GOOD LUCK!When you require higher RPMs to take off in gear, when you smell it burning, when it keeps higher RPMs while driving.
I need directions explaining how to replace motor mounts on 1994 Lincoln Continental.?
Your car is small, it won't be too expencive, maybe $800 at a good shop. Don't cheap out and go to a place like pepboys to do it. MAYBE aamco, they might do it for around $500.
Is it safe to drive for two hours on a spare tire?
starting from a dead stop will feel "jerky", it is like... the car just wont go forward for a while, even if you press the gas pedal. Just assume 2 gears with wore out teeth, one is rotating, one is not, when you attach them, it slip/slide a little and then they rotate normally. It also happens when you shift gears too, but more noticable when you start from a dead stop. Replacing it at the dealer should cost like $1000-$1500, parts along should cost around $300, including whole clutch. But installation fee... perhaps some local shop willing do it at the same as parts cost, another $300.More Questions & Answers ...
