Is it possible to "clean" engine oil off a driveway?

If it just happens first thing in the morning it could be due to the cold and damp, there is a spray you can get, they have several names but if you ask for water dispersant or damp start this could help. Follow the instructions, but basically what you do is spray it where any leads join the plugs for example and it stops the damp/moisture getting in. I had the same problem as this on an old car and after using the spray I had no more problems, the spray only cost about £5, good luck.

If it gets better after you have warmed it up dont worry most cars dont do too well from cold starts as the engine has to expand to operating temp, has it been serviced ie spark plugs, filters etc

If it's got a carb, perhaps the choke isn't working properly, or if it's injection the ECU may not be getting the right signals. Could also be that the plugs/leads are getting a bit tired.

its more than likely the cold weather,the oil is quite thick when cold and will slow the engine down,you could change the grade to a 50/10 it would help,if its not the oil it sounds like maybe its over fueling,take it to a mechanic explain the problem.
