HOW TO? I want to change people's brakes in my driveway...?

Question:
Hi! I learned how to change my F150 brakes and they're pretty easy. I want to do it for money. I don't wanna be a mechanic; I'm actually a lawyer. How should I advertise? I tried craigslist; no one answered..

well being a lawyer you would know it's unlawful to conduct business without a proper license, and you can't perform automotive work at a residence with the proper license, in most states. there is more envolved then just changing the pads.

what is BONDO?

Be careful lots's of liability if the brakes fail for some dumb mistake you made. Being a lawyer you should know that though.
Get a part time job at the local mechanic's. Doing brakes gets old after awhile. Yours went smooth but most don't go that way since people let them go too long before repairing them

Is it in my best interest to buy a new tort converter or a rebuilt transmission?

That's cause people don't trust lawyers. LOL. Were your brakes disc, or drum brakes. Also, would you take your vehicle to someone that isn't certified or insured to do it? Do you have a business license? Do you know how to measure the drum, or disc, to see if they need replacing?

Engine cover?

This post really surprises me. As a lawyer I would think you would know better. Go to a brake shop and look at the equipment they have. Thousands and thousands of dollars invested. Measuring tools, lathes, bleeding machines, tools etc. etc. You could be heading for a liability problem. Brakes should be left to the profesional, You may change your own but stay clear of anything beyond that. This is coming from a mechanic of 40 years that has seen to many do it yourself brake jobs all to often.
