Recently put on new altenator, Water pump, Belt, Changed Oil&/Filter, Trans Fluid&/Filter... Antifreeze is full, Oil Pressure seems fine.. Trans Fluid maybe a lil low? Also there is a humming sound after idleing for a while.. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!

I think there are about 30 codes for this lightif you go to one of the major auto parts stores or on line and buy a Hanes manual it can show you where to jump the terminals and then read the flashes to give the diagnosis
many of the codes are for engine control stuff like PCV valve, MAP sensor, Oxygen sensor and others.
the parts store guys may even put it on their scanner for free

Gas cap could be it, i have seen that before. I have also seen emission system (O2 sensor, PCV valve, etc.) problems cause the check gages light to come on. Good luck!The sensor may just need to be rest after all the work you did on the car.

To do this, take the negative battery cable off the battery. Let it stay off or several minutes. Then put it back on. That will usually reset the the sensor (if that is all it is).
If it comes back on, drive it to Auto Zone or an Advance Auto. They can but it on a diagnostic computer there. It is free. There is no sense spending a lot of time and money changing parts you don't need to. Just have them check it for you.

also a short can often make lights come on for no reason. though I guess I'd get it checked. Just take it in for a tuneup and they will tell you.'02 impala low-coolant light on but engine not hot?
disconnect the battery and then try it again. if the light returns more than 3 times it is probably a c02sensor needs changed. it could be you got some bad gas, or the gas cap isn't on tight enough.you'll have to burn that gas up before you disconnect the battery to clear the code or you won't knowif it was the cause.

i own a repair shop,and there's a number of reasons this light will come on,,if all your liquids are full,then it may be a sending unit for one of them going bad ,you can take it by any auto zone and have it scanned and they can tell you exactly which one is making the light come on,,and its free,,its probably just a sensor or a sending unit causing this to happen,mine used to do it,and it was the temperature sensor that was causing this to happen,,let them check it,and they can tell you what it is,,like i said its free,and they,ll also have the part you need to put on to stop this from happening,,good luck hope this help,s.How do you drain automatic transmition fluid?

the only way to know for sure is to have the car but on a machine to get the codeDo you have a sound system, if so you might need a base cap,
if not i would check the wire's connecting to the alternator for corrosion, if any than clean it also check the batter for corrosion,
if ever thing check's out OK then you might want to check your fuses both under the hood and under the dash, if everything check's out OK , then you might want to check the fuel pump pressure.
More than likely ...someone forgot to plug in wires to the items you replaced....and or the sensors are not working properly

The check guages warning light is put there to bring the driver's attention to a problem with one or more of the guages that are indicating some motor parameters. The guages that are in this circuit are fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temp., and voltage level. When the check guages light comes on, is there an abnormal situation being displayed in one or more of the aforementioned guages and if so you will have to address that situation first. If as I suspect the check guages light is coming on for no reason other than to irritate you, you have an internal fault inside the cluster. All the monitoring of this function is inside of this piece of electronics. You cannot repair this other than replacing the cluster. I have removed the cluster and taken this bulb out of service for people that didn't want to spend the money to get it fixed to factory which makes a lot of sense as it is a redundant warning system. check gauges lights usually come on for that exact reason, check the oil pressure, oil level can be ok but the oil pressure sensor can be faulty causing the check gauges light to come on, the same for coolant, a sensor faulty or low coolant, the alternator, battery, etc. The humming sound sounds like a bad front pump in the transmission, or maybee a filter on the valve body isnt tight or fell off? air is being introduced into the pump circuit causing the noise, example fluid has bubbles in it, (Air in the fluid) Hope this helpsMore Questions & Answers ...
