When I make right turns and go over SOME bumps in my car I hear a slight knocking sound...What could this be?

Question:
The knocking sound doesn't happen with left turns. I've heard that it could be anything from brakes, shocks, steering column, etc. Can someone help me? BTW: 1986 BMW 325e 4dr Auto W/ New Brakes

How do you undowe the nut that hold the water pump bolts that rusted up?

Strut mounts, ball joints, stabilizer bar end links are the most common cause of this type noise during the situation you describe. The most common problem in the year, make, and model of your car is the ball joints. They may only be available as part of the control arm.

Does the alignment on your car matter?

Most likely a ball joint, or a tie rod.

What is the difference between w5-30 oil and w10-30 oil? And can they be mixed?

I would check the bushings in the lower control arm.Maybe even the tie rod end. The best way to check is to lift it or at least put the front end on jack stands and start jerking the rotor in different directions. The noise should show itself.
