Question:
i was just wondering if anyone could recommend the best oil to use in a 1998 grand prix gtp (supercharged 3800) with 94000 miles, tires plus has been using "kendall gt 1 high mileage synthetic blend" but ive been told that i should use full synthetic for that engine. any feedback would be helpful, thanks

Who else is getting tired of all the commercials during Spike TV's Powerblock hours?!!?
I have always used full synthetic. It is a little more expensive, but if you get the extended performance, it's like $30 for the 5qt jug at walmart, it lasts up to 15k miles instead of the 6k miles regular synthetic will go. We had a 96 GTP that we just traded in on a 2004 gtp, our 96 had 220k miles+ and the engine never had a problem, so in my opinion, full synthetic is the way to go, it provides a lot better protection. Even using the extended protection oil we still change it about ever 8-10k miles (or 3 months, whichever comes first, we are putting the miles on it pretty fast right now) and we get the K&N oil filter because it provides protection for the extended miles, I don't know if you can get it in another brand, but I am sure there has to be something else out there, regular oil filters only provide protection for the 3000 miles you would normally go.Can you put a turbo from a srt4 neon into a 2002 2.0 magnum r/t neon?
Also, ask if there is an additive you should add in the first oil change, as regular oil can build up around your seals and gaskets, and when you switch to synthetic after you car has so many miles on it it would take that oil buildup off, possibly causing leaks. We've never switched over with mileage like that, so I don't know if that would be a problem or not, but if it would be, they will have an additive to fix it.
Hope this helps...
Can someone please check this VIN # 1J4GZ78S9WC152816?

The very best oil to use is Schaeffer's Supreme 7000 sythetic blend 10w-30. I will outperform any oil on the market, including Royal Purple. check www.schaefferoil.com for more info. Good luckMore Questions & Answers ...
