I just had a new catalytic converter put into my 93 plymouth sundance when after about 5 miles the engine starts to sputter and cat gets cherry red 3 weeks ago I put in new plugs wires cap and rotor then I ran it for two weeks with the clogged cat . what are the chances that I just burned up a plug or two or is it more likely that I have a dead cylinder

guess what ur in luck. i have a 93 plymouth acclaim 3.0 v6 and i had the same problem. i hate doing exausts, and trannys and guess what i had problems with both. I can put on a new head but cant fix a damned exuast. there was a clog in my muffler. u probably do too. the engine sputters because the exaust builds up after running for a few minutes and it cant breath!Trying to look up this part for Honda Civic?
Means that somewhere else your exhaust is clogged up. More and likely the muffler.How much would a radiator cost for a 2005 toyota rav 5?
If the cat gets cherry red it is clogged. thats the bottom line.. whoever put it on messed it up somehow, bring it back and have them fix it.What is the price range it should cost to replace a head casket?
i own a shop and you probably have another problem some where in the exhaust system that's causing this to happen like the guts in the muffler could have come loose and be clogging the system up,id say that's probably what got the other cat on it,i wouldn't run it any more unless i had too,this can and probably will cause it to blow a head gasket and maybe even warp a head on it,good luck i hope this helps.Too much raw fuel ,Leaving Eng,unused.Unless the Person

You may have a problem with a broken baffle in the muffler, however the cat most likely went bad in the fist place because you car is running too rich
