How to clean up diesel mess on driveway?

I have a mess to clean up that I am not sure how. My truck thought it would be hilarious to leak a ton of fuel from its filter and now my driveway has a huge black spot. How can I clean that up?

The easiest way is to use some "oil dry", a powdery oil absorbent material available at any decent parts store. Pour the oil dry onto the spot and soak up the excess liquid, then sweep that up and put on some fresh oil dry on the stain and use an old length of two by four or other piece of wood you can get a good hold of and scrub. Scrub in every direction and work the oil dry into the stain and with a bit of elbow grease 99 percent of the stain will come up. Just sweep up the dust and your taken care of.

Get some cat litter... the cheapest stuff that makes the most dust the better... grind it into the spot with your foot, then sweep it up.

Concrete or asphalt driveway? If it is concrete they make a special driveway cleaner that works. If it is asphalt buy a 10# bag of kitty litter at the grocery store and spread this out over the spill area. Grind it into the driveway surface with your shoe. Let it sit. It will absorb the diesel fuel. Sweep it up. If there is still some residue do it again. The kitty litter is what shops use when they have any kind of oily spill.

First start off with kitty litter and lay it on top of the mess and let it soak it all up. You may need quite abit. Put a piece of plywood over it or a plastic tarp as kitty litter will absorb water -if it rains) Leave overnight. Then sweep off the soaked kitty litter. If you then are left with a black mess on the driveway(I have a diesel-I Know what you is talking about) the next thing you can try is either laundry soap and hot water and brush it and hose it. The black will still be there, but the concrete will be cleaner elsewhere.
You then need to get either "brake cleen" in a spray bomb or "WD40" in the same and spot clean and rag it clean, to get the black off. Then the soap and water treatment again.
