Will a mustang T-5 bolt up to a 351W?

I'm swapping a 351w into my 1982 Fairmont and also have a 86 mustang with a T-5 that is a parts car. Just wondering if it will bolt up or will I have to stick with my AOD. The 351 is gonna be done up a bit and I think it would be sweet to have a 5-speed behind it

What engine did the Fairmont originally come with? If it's the 3.3L inline six, you will need to change the 'K' frame in order to install the 351W. What vehicle is the 351W coming from? If it's out of a truck, I know you will have to replace the oil pan with a dual sump style one out of a Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis of model years up to 1991 (if 351Ws were available on U.S. cars of that vintage. I know they were available as an option on Canadian spec. models up to 1991 with a 2 bbl VV carburetor, believe it or not). You may even need to change the oil pump and drive assembly to accomodate the shallower pan. But the transmission bellhousing bolt patterns are identical between the 302 and 351W. The only thing I'm not sure of is the proper flywheel external balance weight required for the application. And as the other poster says, to make sure there is a pilot bearing installed into the crankshaft. Hope this helps.

It should be ok if you have all the parts from the mustang to make it happen. You might have to get creative with the clutch pedal assembly, and might have to change out the pilot bearing / bushing.
