Question:
WHEN the engine gets hot the transmission starts to stutter and then eventually will not move at all.
what could be the cause of this and how expensive is it to repair?
Answers:
What engine oil do I need for 2 Litre Ford Mondeo GLX (R Reg)?
i own a repair shop and there was an issue with the transmissions in these cars,,yours is probably low on fluid or the filter is getting stopped up in it,,i had one on Tuesday of this week and when it gets hot you could smell the transmission getting hot,,it was full of fluid also,,its just going out,,they usually lasted about 120 thousand miles at the most,,some a lot less than that,,more than likely its going out,,when it heats up the bands and clutches separate in them, and this causes them to slip..smell the fluid in it,,if it has a burnt smell to it,,its going out,,it will also be a reddish brown color,,,if it looks like this ,you going to need it re-built,,that cost around 1200 for that car ,,there pretty expensive to repair,,good luck hope this help,s happy new years. What could be the cause of this windshield washer problem?
Question is too vague. But sounds like you may be low on fluid. Go to an automobile or parts store and buy a book like Haynes for your year and type of car and it will pretty much diagnose what is wrong.sorry craig you need to get it diagnosed.....when the engine senses a problem with the newer ones the motor shuts down part of the motor, sending it in limp mode by default to save the engine but if you have overheating problems...get it checked 1st...there's no point worrying if you have a tranny problem if the motors gone.....it could also be a minor solution...get it checked
