1996 Isuzu Rodeo EGR Valve and CV Boot, V6 3.2L?

Question:
Where exactly is the EGR valve located on a 96 Rodeo. I have an EGR valve from a 94 and I was told it was the incorrect one, but I cannot locate anything under the hood remotely looking like the 94 valve. If you know where it is please be specific like near firewall or under motor on drivers side. I do have a shematic of the emissions system but it's pretty vague. I figure I could got to the parts store and see a new valve but figured I'd try here first.

Were can i find 1981 buick century tail light lenses at?

Additionally, on the Rodeo, both the outer drivers and passenger side boots are torn. The drivers side still shows a "dry" boot area but the passengers side is obviously spewing grease. If I was to remove these boots, are they grease packed or are there grease fittings for the components the boot protects? I am debating attempting to replace these torn ones with "split boot" from the parts store. I hear they suck but I figure they have to be better than a torn boot.

The split boots are junk. All you will be doing is throwing your money down the drain. Go get the heavy duty boots from the site above.

Crossed spark plug wires?

Well I'm not too sure on the EGR valve but if you know the function and have a schematic then you should be able to at least look in the appropriate locations. As far as the CV boots are concerned, a split boot is better then no boot at all. The boots job is to keep grease in the joint to prevent wear. If you have ever seen or heard any front wheel drive car, usually late seventies/ early eighties when turning, they will make a clicking noise, that is the sound of dry CV joints.

How do you set the timming on a 1990 chevy tbi engine?

EGR valve is on the intake manifold. It takes some of the exhaust and bleeds it in the intake at specific time in order to reduce NOX emissions. The CV boots are protecting the CV joint and any tear will not only cause a loss of grease, but will allow dust and other contaminates in thus damaging it. It is imperative to maintain drivability of the vehicle to have these removed, inspected, repacked with grease and a new cover put on.
