i own a repair shop, and the block heater is always better it keeps the anti freeze warm and the oil, they just work better because of where their located at the ones that go in the radiator are alright ,but given a choice id take the block heater ,your vehicle will warm up a lot better also with a good block heater, and they out last the other ones ,good luck i hope this help,s.

Why are my wipers parked up?

Well, the best engine heater setup is the "goes in the freeze plug" coolant heater, plug in style, this way you get instant heat. The circulating radiator heaters dont work well because the engine thermostat will stop proper flow of its pump.

If you lived in really cold area, they also sell a heated battery blanket and the oil dipstick tube heater, and those are good auxilary heaters for obvious reasons.

I have a Jeep and the overdrive dose not work. Were can I go in the net to get help to fix it or do u know how

Then buy some nylon zip ties and a 3 way plug in and you could plug all three devices in with one heavy duty grounded extension cord. With that setup for under $110, you will never need to be concerned about your car being too cold to operate properly.

how do you adjust a 92 kenworth dump trucks brakes?

There are several types of engine heaters. The most common, called a block heater is actually an element inserted into the block at a cooling passage to keep the coolant, and thus the block from freezing. There is also a magnetic oil pan heater, that simply sticks to the oil pan to keep the oil warmer, a dipstick heating element that warms the oil, and even engine blankets, that have the drawback of having to be set over the engine and removed before running the engine. There is also a battery blanket heater which can come in the form of a wrap for the battery. This can help in really cold climates as well as the block heater. Good luck in your choices, and remember, dont forget to unplug! (personal experience, winter of 89, yanked cord thru grill of car, costing a grill replacement) lol. Good luck.

What is the price range for a new paint job on a black SUV? And also cost to get a few dents out??

The block heater keeps the oil warm, the radiator heater circulates and warms the coolant in the radiator.

what do you know about high flow catalic converters?

radiator heaters generally go in the lower radiator hose and plug into a normal 120 volt outlet, they are easy to install and work quite well, I dont know what type of block heater you are talking about but a block heater that mounts in your engine blocks frost plugs are usually a pain to install but do work better, there are also magnetic block heaters that will hold to any flat metal surface and can be used for oil or water and are also portable. they can get very hot and could char your oil inside the pan over time

where to purchase this setting bar for timing in VW 1989 and the pin for fuel injector (the one hold the gear

If it gets REALLY COLD (-50) you need both.
Most cars only need the block heater to keep the engine oil so it will flow and lubricate as you are driving your first few minutes.
A radiator heater is to keep your coolant from freezing which will only happen if you do not properly use antifreeze or are in EXTREME weather.
