could be a couple of things, depends on your car. if you car is rear wheel drive it could be your uv joints on the drive shaft, which is a cheap and easy fix. if its not that its a good chance its your transmition and if thats the case good luckthe next time you hear the clunk, clunk, clunk, put the car in park, exit the vehicle, walk to the back of the vehicle, crouch, and remove the tricycle from underneath the vehicle. This should resolve the clunking noise.

Depending on your car it could be one of several things. If you car is a rear wheel drive, you may have the UV joints on the drive shaft looked at. That should be relatively cheap and easy to repair. Hopefully it isn't your transmission.How do you know when your rear end is going out on your car?
