Whats the best $600 I can spend on gettng the most performance?

Hi, I'm looking to get the most noticable gains in tire smoking performance for my truck.It is a 2005 silverado 4.8 4wd, I'm glad it's a regular cab with 4wd counts out the weight,it still weighs around 4800 pounds.The only thing I have done to it is a high performance muffler and k&n air filter,I want to get the best bang for my buck.I'm kinda short on money so I have to go with what I got, I really want a supercharger but they are way out of my price range!I called Nelson Performance and they said they would custom tune my truck with a pcm customized the way I want it.I have read up on some of there customer reviews and I was really impressed,they can take away a second off your 1/4 mile time.The price was $375 for my truck since it is considered stock.What are your opinons?The custom tunig takes out gm's torque managment which helps out off the line.In your professional opinons would I notice way more from the tuning or should I go with something else?Thanks a bunch for reading,J

I bought a performance chip for my truck for like 280.00 and once my computer was tuned I got more horse power, I was not longer governed on my mileage and I personally thought that was great! I had also changed my exhaust and air filter previous to that.

i suggest a super chip reprogramer. you can buy them from any performance magazine. they have an performance setting on them. you can program it to shift harder and at different times than stock. if you put larger tires on your truck you can enter that so your speedometer is still correct. the only draw back to setting it on performance is the lowest octane gas you can put in your vehicle is 91 octane. I have a super chip programmer on my truck and it made a huge difference
