Having trouble finding the paint code for 96 ford escort?

I think ive looked everywhere, under the hood, both doors, even under the friggen carpet and spare tire in the trunk. I cant find my paint code and i want to fix a really long scratch but i bought the wrong paint. I cant find any websites that will tell me the code. It will be either in the driver door jamb or under the trunk lid. Look for a "BC,CC" code (base coat,clear coat)

Well, on most ford cars, the paint coed is a two letter code, near the bottom left side of the sticker, that is located, in the drivers door jam. The one that has the tire info, and vin on it and such. Hope that helps. If not try to take a photo of the door jam with that sticker, and I think I can help you out there.

If all else fails, then go to a paint shop and ask them to match the color of the car. The way they do this is, they take a small sample of the paint and put it in a machine. The machine then tries to get the closest match possible. Also that same auto body shop may know where to find the paint code on your car.
