97 Ford Taurus, engine won't shift over into next gear after 30 mph when driving, what's the problem? Help

Will still need to bleed the hydraulics of the clutch system, and double check its fluid level. Maybe just low enough to start causing you troubles.

I have a 04 Yukon XL and the tach and speedo are not working correctly they are moving around on their own?

time for a clutch. all that fast and furious driving has taken its toll. your clutch disk has worn and is not as thick as it was when new. that accounts for the pedal play. there is no adjustment for a hydraulic clutch. if the fluid is full, and your pedal is down, it is time for a new clutch.if you havent had a leak, or had to add fluid, there is no need to bleed the clutch circuit, as there is no way air could have entered the closed system. if your clutch master cylinder, or clutch slave cylinder were going bad you would have a leak. no leak=bad clutch. it is a 97. ten years is a long time for a clutch. it is not the master cylinder.

newer cars have a hydraulic slave cylinder and it does go bad and cause the problem you are having. but it could just be you need fluid in it. you should have it checked.

Is there a difference between the fuel injection cleaner I can buy at the store vs. what my auto shop uses?

i own a repair shop, and it needs to be adjusted ,out some,,this will help it go in to gear a lot better and also check for any signs of the fluid that might be leaking out ,if the level is alright, you can try adjusting it,,this usually helps ,it may be either one of the cylinders going out on it,,you,ll know more about it,after you adjust it,,good luck i hope this help,s.

The transmission didn't shift above 2nd gear after transmission fluid change?

The hydraulics (slave cylinder) could simply be wearing out. From your description of pedal trouble, this would be the first suspect for me, as that is very similar to the problems I encounted when mine was getting weak.

olds achieva 97 - check engine light?

Okay, if you press on the clutch pedal, and still cannot get it into gear, the problem is not the clutch. If it were the clutch, you can push the clutch, shift the stick into gear, fully depress the clutch pedal, and the car won't move.
The problem is not a hydraulic leak either.
Your problem is the clutch master cylinder! The same thing happened to me on my truck. My clutch usually grabs really high on the clutch, but when the master cylinder gave out, the clutch would engage lower on the pedal, and soon, would not even pressurize to engage the pressure plate.
I am 100% sure that the problem is your clutch master cylinder. It is mounted on your firewall, and the arm is mounted to your pedal...hard to miss it!

What could be wrong with the EGR sytem on my Ford Escape?

It *probably* has a hydraulic clutch and that would be the slave that is failing. If you don't get it repaired soon, your syncros will wear out and your trany will need replace or rebuild.
