Code scanner.?

Question:
I got a code scanner for my 1993 nissan 240sx. the guy at the auto parts store said that the store did not have any scanner for a 1993 240sx he said the only thing he had was an actron code scanner which only went up to 1992.I would like to know if this scanner will work for my 93 nissan 240sx?

More then likely it will not work. You can read codes from the ECM (computer). Access ECM - turn ignition on, do not start. Turn mode selector on ECM fully clockwise for at least 2 sec. then turn counter clockwise. There will be a series of flashes form the diode (located on ECM) this indicates code #'s - two digits.

If it's a OBD2 scanner the answer is no. OBD2 is for post 1996 vehicles. By the way ACTRON advertises that their new OBD2 scanners are internet upgradeable. They currently have no upgrades for the newest vehicles, tech. says maybe latter this year. Stay away from ACTRON!
